The Auburn Tigers are BCS Champions after defeating the Oregon Ducks, 22-19. The game featured at-times shoddy quarterbacking, a two-point conversion on an extra point, a safety, two goal-line stands, a converted fake punt, a thrilling late comeback and an eventual game-winning chip shot thanks to Auburn’s Michael Dyer’s magic knee.

All told, a pretty balanced and entertaining championship affair, with Oregon providing all the weirdness to counteract Cam Newton’s rather basic approach, which was just running forward and plowing Ducks over.

We’ll see what happens from here on out — politicians are still clamoring about getting something playoff-y done — but we should not forget about also-undefeated TCU and the fact that this game may have been a whole lot better to watch if there wasn’t over a month of time between the end of the regular season and now.
But for now: Congrats, Auburn. And by Auburn, I mean Charles Barkley.

The Denver Nuggets may have just turned this Carmelo Anthony trade ordeal into an episode of 24, with Anthony playing the role of the stolen firing sequences to the missing nuclear devices and Denver threatening to sell them off to New Jersey’s worst enemy if demands are not met (Also, has a rogue third party, the Houston Rockets, entered the picture?).

Really though, the Nuggets are trying to see how much they can get away with, trying to see how much they can squeeze out of a deal before parting with their franchise icon, who still isn’t quite sure what we’re all talking about.
